Aqua-Ionizer Deluxe 7 Review – Your Best Choice?

Aqua-Ionizer Deluxe 7

The Aqua-Ionizer Deluxe from Air Water Life is one of the bestselling water ionizers today, and it has definitely intrigued a lot of people who have never tried alkaline water before. Unlike other water ionizers, however, the Ionizer Deluxe is equipped with a handful of features that make it a good choice for people who want to own a versatile water ionizer.

Features

There are multiple options here so you can have water just the way you want it, including non-ionized purified, 4 types of ionized alkaline and two ionized acidic presets. This feature set isn’t something you usually see in water ionizers so it’s definitely a plus.

However, the Aqua unit has many other special features built-in as well, including the Advanced 7-Electroplate Technology, consisting of energy efficient and durable plates made of titanium that’s been coated with platinum, making it much stronger than others.
The machine also has a carbon water filter that can purify more than 1,585 gallons, providing it with long life and coupled with superior technology, makes it ideal for heavy duty use. The unit is also capable of self-cleaning by way of reverse polarity. This is activated after every use and it will also engage in auto-plate every 10 and half gallons. Aside from that, the unit also has a limited lifetime warranty, backlit LCD and variable 4.5 to 11 pH.

The Aqua unit also relies on superior technologies for customizing and filtering tap water pH balance. Unlike those used on other ionizers, this machine was designed to produce only clear and pure ionized water. A quick look at its feature set will show that it has many of the features you’d expect from a costly ionizer, but you can get them here and at a much lower price.

The unit is a durable ionizer and it only uses components that have been approved by the FDA. In fact, every component that the ionized water goes, filters, and touches has been approved by the FDA.

Aside from this, the Aqua Deluxe incorporates support for high density continuous electrolysis. Furthermore, the unit is also resistant to erosion and oxidation. Because of the design, the unit is capable of providing long life with minimal power consumption, making it economical. Another advantage of the Aqua-Ionizer Deluxe is that it automatically removes the hazardous and dangerous elements in tap water. It must be noted that its water filter is really state of the art and designed for removing VOCs, pesticides, radon, trihalomethane, chlorine, benzene and other pollutants in tap water. Moreover, the unit also is also capable of cleaning up to 6,000 litters or 1585 gallons of water.

Pros

The unit has many powerful features, and among the most significant are the following:

* There are multiple healthy water options, something other ionizers don’t offer.
* The plates are very effective and power efficient.

* There is a limited lifetime warranty.

Cons

The  Deluxe ionizer is a well-rounded water ionizer, but there are a few shortcomings or potential issues you need to know:

* With so many features, users might take some time getting used to the Aqua Ionizer Deluxe.
* Dissecting the manual is quite a challenge.

What Customers are Saying about the Aqua-Ionizer Deluxe

The vast majority of reviews online have been positive, with many commenting how easy it is to install. Other reviewers have also taken note of how good the ionized water tastes, which is actually a concern of many who have never tried ionizers before. In fact a lot of reviewers have noted how effective it can be for health conscious people especially those who are serious about taking care of their bodies. One reviewer, a kidney transplant survivor, remarked at how effective it is in keeping his body healthy.

A lot of reviewers also like the fact that the unit is very affordable and has many of the features they only expected to find in more expensive water ionizers. Aside from being an effective product, what really caught a lot of people’s attention is how affordable the product and the replacement parts are compared to other products. The combination of affordability and efficiency is the reason why it has become very popular.

Conclusion

There are a lot of water ionizers on the market and many of them are heavily promoted. The problem with most of those products is they don’t deliver on their promises. There’s also the fact that they’re expensive and difficult to use.

Fortunately the Aqua-Ionizer  is a notable exception. It’s not just affordable but also generally easy to use. The nice thing about the product is there are plenty of options available, something that many users will probably appreciate. While a simple and straightforward water ionizer is nice, having multiple options is nice too, and it’s not hard to avail of them here.

Aside from being compact, the unit is also notable for its water filter which really works. The claim that it is capable of purifying more than 1,500 gallons is accurate, and the self-cleaning mechanism is definitely quite convenient. If those features aren’t convincing enough, then the FDA approved components and the user reviews should be more than enough to help you make up your mind. It’s very rare that one can find a product that gets as many positive reviews as the Aqua-Ionizer machine, but it should be expected given the product’s features. Aside from having state of the art features, it should also be clear that the unit was built to deliver ionized water at the highest level. Without doubt, the Air Water Life machine is a water ionizer that works.

Do I need a Home Water Filter Systems

home water filter system

Before considering if you need a home water filter system, it is a good idea to go through the consumer confidence report for your residential area from the EPA site. You can also get a local laboratory to test the tap water from your house.

Remove odor?

If the water needs only the taste and the odor to be removed, a carbon filter will serve the purpose. Activated carbon absorbs the contaminants from the water onto its surface. Activated carbon has a large surface area which enables this process. Some under-sink water filters have activated carbon for the purpose of filtering out impurities from the water.

What is drinking water pH?

What does pH mean for water?

The pH of pure water is 7. In general, water with pH value lower than 7 is considered acidic, and with a pH greater than 7 is considered basic. The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5, and the pH range for groundwater systems is between 6 to 8.5. Alkalinity is a measure of the capacity of the water to resist a change in pH that would tend to make the water more acidic. The measurement of alkalinity and pH is needed to determine the corrosiveness of the water.

What is the pH level of tap water?

The pH level of tap water depends on where that water is coming from. Places like New York City boast tap water with a pH level of 7.2, while places in the desert, like Las Vegas, Nevada, often have hard tap water with a high pH. Drinking water pH can be affected by things like the composition of an area’s bedrock, the presence of chemical detergents or cleaning agents in the water, and ways that municipal water processing plants choose to treat it.

pH Test StripsIn general, water with a pH < 6.5 could be acidic, soft, and corrosive. Acidic water could contain metal ions such as iron, manganese, copper, lead, and zinc. In other words, acidic water contains elevated levels of toxic metals. Acidic water can cause premature damage to metal piping, and have associated aesthetic problems such as a metallic or sour taste. It can also stain laundry and cause “blue-green” color staining on sinks and drains. More importantly, there are health risks associated with these toxins. The primary way to treat the problem of low pH water is with the use of a neutralizer. The neutralizer feeds a solution into the water to prevent the water from reacting with the household plumbing or from contributing to electrolytic corrosion. A typical neutralizing chemical is soda ash. Also known as sodium carbonate, soda ash works to increase the sodium content which increases pH. Water with a pH > 8.5 could indicate that the water is hard. Hard water does not pose a health risk, but can also cause aesthetic problems. These problems include an alkali taste to the water (making that morning coffee taste bitter!), formation of scale deposits on dishes, utensils, and laundry basins, difficulty in getting soaps and detergents to lather, and the formation of insoluble precipitates on clothing.

According to a Wilkes University study, the association of pH with atmospheric gases and temperature is the primary reason why water samples should be tested on a regular basis. The study says that the pH value of the water is not a measure of the strength of the acidic or basic solution, and alone cannot provide a full picture of the characteristics or limitations with the water supply.

While the ideal pH level of drinking water should be between 6-8.5, the human body maintains pH equilibrium on a constant basis and will not be affected by water consumption. For example, our stomachs have a naturally low pH level of 2 which is a beneficial acidity that helps us with food digestion.

Basically, the pH value is a good indicator of whether water is hard or soft.

Home Remedies for Kidney Stones

Staying hydrated is key
Drinking plenty of fluids is a vital part of passing kidney stones and preventing new stones from forming. Not only does the liquid flush out toxins, it helps move stones and grit through your urinary tract.

Although water alone may be enough to do the trick, adding certain ingredients can be beneficial. Be sure to drink one 8-ounce glass of water immediately after drinking any flavored remedy. This can help move the ingredients through your system.

Talk to your doctor before getting started with any of the home remedies listed below. They can assess whether home treatment is right for you or if it could lead to additional complications.

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, use these home remedies with caution. Your doctor can determine whether a juice may cause side effects for you or your baby.

1. Water
When passing a stone, upping your water intake can help speed up the process. Strive for 12 glasses of water per day instead of the usual eight.

Once the stone passes, you should continue to drink eight to 12 glasses of water each day. Dehydration is one of the main risk factors for kidney stones, and the last thing you want is for more to form.

Pay attention to the color of your urine. It should be a very light, pale yellow. Dark yellow urine is a sign of dehydration.

2. Lemon juice
You can add freshly squeezed lemons to your water as often as you like. Lemons contain citrate, which is a chemical that prevents calcium stones from forming. Citrate can also break up small stones, allowing them to pass more easily.

Lemon juice has numerous other health benefits. For example, it helps inhibit bacteria growth.

3. Basil juice
Basil contains acetic acid, which helps to break down the kidney stones and helps to reduce pain. It also lowers uric acid levels, which reduces your risk for future stones.

Use fresh or dried basil leaves to make a tea and drink several cups per day. You may also juice fresh basil or add it to a smoothie.

You shouldn’t use medicinal basil juice for more than six weeks at a time. Extended use may lead to:

low blood sugar
low blood pressure
increased bleeding

4. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar contains citric acid. Citric acid helps to dissolve kidney stones. Apple cider vinegar can help alkalize blood and urine and increase stomach acids to prevent the formation of new stones. In addition to flushing out the kidneys, apple cider vinegar can help ease pain caused by the stones.

To reap these benefits, add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to 6–8 ounces of purified water. Drink this mixture throughout the day.

You shouldn’t consume more than one 8-ounce glass of this mixture per day. If ingested in larger amounts, apple cider vinegar can lead to low levels of potassium and osteoporosis.

People with diabetes should exercise caution when drinking this mixture. Monitor your blood sugar levels carefully throughout the day.

You shouldn’t drink this mixture if you’re taking:

insulin
digoxin (Digox)
diuretics, such as spironolactone (Aldactone)

5. Celery juice
Celery juice clears away toxins that contribute to kidney stone formation. It also helps flush out the body so you can pass the stone.

Blend one or more celery stalks with water, and drink the juice throughout the day.

You shouldn’t drink this mixture if you have:

any bleeding disorder
low blood pressure
a scheduled surgery
You also shouldn’t drink this mixture if you’re taking:

levothyroxine (Synthroid)
lithium (Lithane)
medications that increase sun sensitivity, such as isotretinoin (Sotret)
sedative medications, such as alprazolam (Xanax)

6. Pomegranate juice
Pomegranate juice can help improve overall kidney function, as well as flush stones and other toxins from your system.

It also lowers your urine’s acidity level. Lower acidity levels reduce your risk for future kidney stones.

There’s no limit to how much pomegranate juice you can drink throughout the day.

You shouldn’t drink pomegranate juice if you’re taking:

medications changed by the liver
blood pressure medications, such as chlorothiazide (Diuril)
rosuvastatin (Crestor)

7. Kidney bean broth
The broth from cooked kidney beans helps improve overall urinary and kidney health. It also helps dissolve and flush out the stones. Simply strain the liquid from cooked beans and drink a few glasses throughout the day.

Other natural remedies
The following home remedies may contain ingredients that aren’t already in your kitchen. You should be able to buy them from your local health food store or online.

8. Dandelion root juice
Dandelion root is a kidney tonic that stimulates the production of bile. This helps to eliminate waste, increase urine output, and improve digestion. Dandelions have vitamins (A, B, C, D) and minerals such as potassium, iron, and zinc.

You can make fresh dandelion juice or buy it as a tea. If you make it fresh, you may also add orange peel, ginger, and apple to taste. Drink 3–4 cups throughout the day.

Some people experience heartburn when they eat dandelion or its parts.

You shouldn’t drink this mixture if you’re taking:

blood thinners
antacids
antibiotics
lithium (Lithane)
diuretics, such as spironolactone (Aldactone)
If you are taking medications, talk to your doctor before taking dandelion root extract as it can interact with many medications.

9. Wheatgrass juice
Wheatgrass is packed with many nutrients and has long been used to enhance health. Wheatgrass increases urine flow to help pass the stones. It also contains vital nutrients that help cleanse the kidneys.

You can drink 2–8 ounces per day. To prevent side effects, start with the smallest amount possible and gradually work your way up to 8 ounces.

If fresh wheatgrass juice isn’t available, you can take powdered wheatgrass supplements as directed.

Taking wheatgrass on an empty stomach can reduce your risk for nausea. In some cases, it may cause appetite loss and constipation.

10. Horsetail juice
Horsetail increases urine flow to help to flush out kidney stones and can soothe swelling and inflammation. It also has antibacterial and antioxidant properties that aid in overall urinary health.

However, the Cleveland Clinic warns against its use. You shouldn’t use horsetail for more than six weeks at a time. There are dangers of seizures, low B vitamins, and loss of potassium.

You shouldn’t use horsetail if you take lithium (Lithane), diuretics, or heart medications such as digoxin. Horsetail is not recommended for children and pregnant or breastfeeding women. Horsetail contains nicotine and should not be taken if you are using a nicotine patch or trying to quit smoking.

You also shouldn’t drink this mixture if you have:

alcoholism
diabetes
low potassium levels
low thiamine levels

See your doctor
See your doctor if you’re unable to pass your stone within six weeks, or if you begin experiencing severe symptoms that include:

severe pain
blood in your urine
fever
chills
nausea
vomiting
Your doctor will determine whether you need medication or any other therapy to help you pass the stone.

Pathogen removal from water – technologies and techniques

Introduction

The need to remove pathogens from potable water supplies is long recognised. Pathogenic contamination of water cause disease outbreaks and contribute to background disease rates around the world, and most seriously impacting the developing world.

In this article we outline the characteristics of pathogen groups and provide an overview of the approaches used to remove or otherwise deactivate pathogens from water, summarising the effectiveness of these approaches and highlighting their significant drawbacks. We focus in particular on the effectiveness of improved modern technologies for pathogen removal, including membrane filtration, now being adopted for multiple reasons worldwide. Best backpacking water filters and purifiers

Camping in the backwoods or traveling through Mexico means you’ll need clean drinking water all day, every day. Even if you’re surrounded by enough civilization that bottled water is readily and cheaply available, it doesn’t hurt to have a portable water filter or purifier for those days when all the stores are closed, or you’re too lazy to go outside, or you see someone filling up empty water bottles from the tap to be resold in stores again. Ew.

Luckily for all of us, portable water filters have actually gotten pretty great recently. And no, I’m not talking about the well-known options that have great marketing and cost hundreds of dollars and don’t filter out viruses dammit. Why do they cost so much if they still let bugs through that’ll kill me!?Argh!

The options I’m talking about are comprehensive filtration devices, with technology so good that they’ll handle even the tiniest of microscopic organisms, which most traditional backpacking filters can’t handle. You can fill up from a stagnant pond in sub-Saharan Africa and you’ll be just fine. And isn’t that lovely?

What kind of water filter or purifier do I need?

Chemical
: Lead, arsenic, chlorine, and iodine come to mind. These are more often found in tap water than river water, so if you’re traveling abroad (or filtering at home), you’d want something that can help with these. Dirt and dust are important to remove as well, but pretty much every filter on the market will do that. I’m not aware of anything that’ll filter out all chemicals, but carbon filtration is the most common method for handling these, and is quite helpful. This is where it starts getting technical, but the way I look at it, there are three major categories of contaminants worth discussing: Continue reading “Best backpacking water filters and purifiers”

alexapure pro reviews
alexapure pro reviews

It is a stainless steel gravity filter that sits neatly on the tabletop and claims to remove up to 99% of harmful bacterias, toxins, heavy metals, and all that nasty stuff that’s responsible for so many of the health issues that blight our society today.

The Alexapure Pro is a gravity water filter requires no electricity to operate. There are two chambers and the water is filtered as it drips from the upper chamber to the lower chamber, which holds the purified water. The filters use carbon block filtration by the process of adsorption to attracts certain contaminants at the molecular level, and the contaminants become attached to the surface of the carbon.

It does an excellent job of removing or reducing more than 200 different contaminants (e.g. Chloramines, Chlorine, Fluoride, Bacteria and viruses……) from water .

ADVANTAGES OF Alexapure Pro water filtration system

1. Affordability

The Alexapure Pro retails for $197 shipped but bargains can be found on Amazon for all models and the replacement filters. There are plenty of pump style filters for camping that cost more than this unit that is completely gravity fed.

Here is a link to purchase on Amazon for around $175, meaning this is an incredible bargain in water filtration.

2. Easy to Use

Simply pour water in and let gravity feed for pure and delicious water each and every time. No pumping for minutes at a time.

3. Good Looking

The Alexa Pure is made of quality stainless steel that goes well in any kitchen. It has a high end look that commands the right type of attention.

4. Large Capacity With A Small Footprint

The Alexa Pure can handle up to 2.25 gallons of water poured in at once. The clean water storage capability is also 2.25 gallons.

5. Proven Results

Rigorous water quality testing has been done on water filtered with the Alexa Pure and the results are constantly outstanding. The AlexaPure will remove hormones, bacteria, protozoa, viruses, and even radioactivity whereas a lot of filters just take care of bacteria and protozoa.

6. Easy Dispensing

The simple spigot allows you to get water out as fast as it is filtered or just grab a glass when needed.

7. Lightweight

I was amazed how light the empty filter is . This is something you can move around as needed with no fuss or strain. When I put the whole unit with the ceramic filter on the bathroom scales, it weighed in at 6.5 lbs so even if there is a slight discrepancy due to the type of scale used you are still talking about under 7 lbs of weight.

At this weight, I could see the possibility of this being able to be used in more situations than just at a cabin or stationary location. In some cases, this would be excellent as a base camp filter when moving with a group. It is a bit bulky but if you are sharing the duty of moving a camp with others it is more than manageable.

Is fluoride in drinking water safe?

flouride in water
flouride in water

Fluoridation, or the adding of fluoride into drinking water has been the common practice in America and other countries for many years. This practice was first launched in the 1940s in the America and has been adopted by other municipal water suppliers around the world. There are now more than 400 million of individuals who now receive fluoridated drinking water supply in the world.

Good or Bad?

It is common to understand that proponents of fluoridation helps to prevent tooth decay and the development of cavities in youngsters and adults. This idea is based on early studies that in areas where the natural levels of fluoride were higher than average, the children tooth decay rate is lower. However, some recent studies indicate that there are several drawbacks to the fluoridation practice, including serious negative health consequences. Those studies indicate that fluoride in drinking water can have a range of adverse health effects, particularly for young children, including developmental and intellectual delays, stunted growth and even the increased the chance of dental fluorosis.
